The VALORANT esports landscape continues to grow rapidly today as the developer Riot Games and third-party organisers host different competitive tournaments that enable players to showcase their talents. In the last few months of 2024, esports fans and competitors can anticipate diverse VALORANT esports tournaments offering a thrilling experience and potential financial rewards.

One of the most anticipated events in the VALORANT esports scene this year is the VALORANT Offseason. This features various tournaments, new competition structures, and exciting opportunities for teams, players, and fans.

What is the VALORANT Offseason 2024?

The VALORANT Offseason is an initiative that seeks to provide third-party tournament organisers with a way to host competitive events outside its regular campaign. Riot Games partnered with prominent tournament organisers to create competitive events like show matches and invitationals.

Moreover, the VCT Offseason is considered an important period for the esports player movement. As contracts expire and teams evaluate their performance in the 2024 season events, there will likely be significant roster changes during the free agency period of the offseason. This free agency period brings high-profile signings, trades, and the formation of new VALORANT teams. Offseason tournaments for VALORANT are a proving ground for the new lineups expected to be featured for the 2025 season.

From September 25, 2024, to January 12, 2025, various competitive events will be held, featuring a mix of professional teams, Challenger teams, and open circuits. Packed with regional competitions, new and established VALORANT esports players can test their skills and game knowledge.

Challengers Events

Challenger leagues are the ideal platform for up-and-coming teams who dream of becoming professionals. In 2024, more than 40 Challenger players were added by International League teams. Several teams advanced from Premier to represent their regions at Ascension 2024, where they can gain visibility and further solidify rosters.

In North America, Brazil, and Latin America, there will be 1 Challenger league each. Meanwhile, the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region will have five events, and Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) will have seven events.

VALORANT Game Changers Championship

The VALORANT Game Changers Championship, scheduled from November 8 to November 17 in Berlin, Germany, is one of the highest-level tournaments in Riot Games’ competitive calendar. This event allows the entire esports community to witness who will win one of the biggest first-person shooters (FPS) titles.

This championship provides an international stage for ten qualified teams from different backgrounds to showcase their skills and in-game prowess. Qualified teams will compete against each other in a double-elimination bracket, where losing teams will be relegated to the lower brackets throughout the championship event. Teams that lose a match-up in the lower brackets will be eliminated.
